William's Story
William Eyre,served on His Majesty's Mine Layer 403. H.M.M.L. 403 was blown up in Runswick Bay, North Yorkshire while trying to salvage a German torpedo on the 22 August 1918. He was the son of Charles Weston Eyre, Langley Mill, Notts.
William Eyre along with many more fogotten in time, some with only distant relatives, need to be remembered in the hope that war will become a thing of the past. William Eyre remembered with honour by the Chatham Naval Memorial.
