Mervyn was my granuncle, and is remembered with honour at Arras Flying Services Memorial. My father and myself were both named in honour after Mervyn, he was one of my grandad's elder brothers. He was a lieutenant in the 6th Sqdn. Royal Flying Corps and Royal Field Artillery and he was killed in action, by all accounts he was shot down, on the 23rd july 1917. At the age of 21 years.
