Ernest William's Story
Ernest William Hall was my grandfather. I can recall that he was in the Buffs and was wounded when a bullet hit him in the shoulder and then the cheek. I can always remember he had a dimple on one cheek and only found out why from my father when my grandfather died. He was born and lived in Suffolk and I've often wondered why he was in the Buffs.

Ernest Hall is second from the left in the second row from the front in the group photograph. I do not know when or where this was taken. It would be nice if anyone can add anything to this.
I was also able to obtain a copy of his WW1 campaign medals record
