Arthur Edward's Story

Corporal A E BRADFORD - BARKSTON.

Mr & Mrs J Bradford of Barkston have received the sad news that their eldest son Corporal Arthur E Bradford was killed in action in France on August 19th. He was aged 21. In a letter to the parents a friend of the deceased said he was killed instantly by a shell and is much mourned both by officers and men. He was loved and respected by all for his devotion and bravery in the field. The writer added: "he was my pal we came out together on Easter Day from Ireland, and I can only speak from my own experience, we have lost a good fellow in your son. Please accept the deepest sympathy from all the officers and men in his platoon.
