My grandfather never got over Hugh and I will not let my family forget what they gave.
Private Hugh Carrigan was my grandfatherÂ’s brother. I never met Hugh or my grandfather: he died six years after the end of World War I. My grandfather never got over Hugh and I will not let my family forget what they gave so we could have what we have.
