Albert's Story

Joining in March 1916, he crossed to France five months later and took part in the fighting on the Somme. He fought inmany other notable battles including those at Beaumont Hamel, Arras, Passchendaele and Cambrai and was wounded.

On recovery he returned to the trenches and serves at Bapaume and Epehy and in the advance of 1918, afterwards proceeding with the army of the occupation of Germany. He was demobilised in Feb 1919 and holds the general service and the victory medals
