Arthur Edward's Story

All I know of his war record is that he was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery in the Field, 22nd Janurary 1917. I understand he was wounded and disabled dealing with a German Grenade thrown into his trench. He always had a stiff leg. He died in 1958 when I was only three years of age. He acquired the nickname "Polly' because he kept a parrot and always had monkey nuts in his pocket.
