Walter's Story
I have no memory of my Uncle Walter but my dad talked about him frequently. Walter sailed with the Russian Convoys on very dangerous missions. His ship went down and he was never found. My Grandmother never gave up hope that one day he would return and so she kept all his money saved up ready for him. Dad had always said that they were never really recogmised for their war efforts which greatly saddened him.
