James's Story

Many happy memories of my school holidays spent with my Grandparents. My Grandfather was head gardener at Wasing Place (Near Aldermaston) to the late Sir William and Lady Mount (Grandparents of Conservative leader David Cameron). Being at Wasing Place was heavenly. Sir William and Lady Mount thought the world of my Grandparents. My Grand parents thought the world of of them too as well as Wasing Place. My childhood memories are from the 1950's and are too numerous to mention here-but if anything could be perfection-then this is certainly it for me.

A wonderful Grandfather and an inspiration to all of his family

When I went to my Grandfather's funeral at the little church of St.Nicholas at Wasing I remember being enormously sad. After the service I walked behind the coffin and looked up above the rear church door to see a Psalm that I had never noticed before. It summed up my Grandfather perfectly-it was as if I was meant to read it on that day. They were truly the most wonderful Grandparents that anyone could ever wish for and will remain in our hearts forever. I just wish that I could turn the clock back and live it all again.

In Loving Memory from your eldest Grandson.
