Benjamin's Story
Benjamin was born in Hampstead in 1889 the youngest of three brothers, He was single when he joined the 6th Bedfordshire Regiment and went to france in July 1915 he returned home suffering from servere shell shock, he could not hold his rifle, but they passed him as fit and he was once again sent to france, this was the last time my Gt grandma saw him. he died on the 22 March 1918 in the 2nd Btn Bedforshire Reg and was reported missing assumed dead. His resting place is in the Chapelle British Cemetery, Holnon Ref IV.A.20. He was my Gt Uncle and my hero.
