My grandfather it is said was wounded three times and returned to the front three times. He was posted to Ranikhet, India, in 1920, when my mother was aged 6 months, together with his wife Eden. His second daughter Winifred was born at Ranikhet in 1922. His only brother Harry died of his wounds in France and Robert was informed of Harrys death when marching through Ypres. Harry I believe had a wife and family. Robert came from Iffley, Oxford. We do not have contact with Harrys family as it was so long ago.
