William's Story
My grandfather enlisted on 05.09.1909 in Pembroke Dock. He served in the RFA for 12 years seeing active service both in France and Northern Ireland. He was awarded the DCM on 01.01.1918. He progressed through the ranks from Signaller to Bombadier to Corporal finally to sergeant which was the rank he he held until his discharge on 16.03.1921
