Joseph's Story
Joe signed up with his 3 brothers on the day war broke out. He was at Hill 60 with his brothers when the youngest brother, James, was killed on 16th June 1916.
He was wounded and discharged, medically unfit, not long afterwards. He returned to his family and lived until September 1948. He was unable to work but was subjected to constant medical re- assessment by the Army Pension Board.
