William Robert's Story
I never met my Grandfather William Robert Dodd MM Serjeant 2102 York & Lancaster Regiment 1st/4th Bn as he died when my Father was only eight years old. His name is inscribed on Pier and Face 14 A and 14 B of the Thiepval Memorial.
Sadly we have no photograph of my Grandfather and I only have the few memories my Father told me about the visit of an Officer to break the news of his death his Mother.
