Thomas John's Story

Other memories

Anonymous2008-11-13

Private 43688 Thomas John Roberts was my Grandfather. Before the war he worked as a solicitor's clerk in Bangor, North Wales. My father, his son, was born in May 1914 and had no memories of his father. We don't know when he was called up. We know that he served in the 9th Battalion of the Royal Welch Fusiliers and died on the 31st May 1918 and is buried in the British cemetery at Jonchery Sur Vesle outside Rheims.
