Frederick's Story
Fred lied about his age and joined up aged just 17. Was told by the recruiting sargeant to walk round the block and be 18 when he returned. I've said he was in the Cheshires, but to be honest I'm not sure of the regiment.
Survived several battles on the Somme and was taken prisoner at St Quentin. Forced to work in Salt Mines until the end of the war.
