John's Story

My father joined the Army aged 18 years old in 1916. In 1917 he was shipped to France and immediately sent to the front line. He was wounded by gun shot wounds to his face resulting in him losing his left eye. Despite losing his sight in his left eye, he continued with his life, not letting his disability effect his ability to continue in full employment for the rest of his lfe. He died in 1966.
