Bernard's Story
We always thought he died two days after arriving in France in 1915. But through the Commonwealth War Graves Commisssion we found to our surprise that he fought and died on the Forgotton Front in Salonika, Greek Macedonia. Killed in action on 24th April 1917 - the first day of the Battle of Doiran. He now lies buried in Karasouli Military Cemetary someway north of Thesalonika.
