James's Story

KiA Monday 26th October 1914 during the 1st Battle of Ypres. Wife Sarah died 2 years later leaving 2 young children, James (born 1911) & John (born 1913).

James has never been found but is commemorated and honoured on the Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing. Panel 51 & 53.

It is believed that James was recruited through a PALS drive whilst working in Litchfield.
