Thomas's Story

My Grandfather, Thomas Sharp, was eighteen years of age, a Lance Corporal with the Royal Scots Fusiliers when he went to fight in the First World War. He served from 1914-1918. He saw action in Germany, France and Turkey.

He was in the trenches and ended up suffering with Black Fever, but survived. His two brothers also survived.

I never knew my grandfather, because he had died before I was born. But from what I have been told, he never spoke of his time in the war.
