Thomas's Story

My uncle Thomas who died at Flanders on 28th March 1918 aged just twenty two years. He was the son of Jemima and George Powrie.

I was told years later that he had been wounded and was taken to a make-shift medical centre which was blown up soon afterwards. He and all the others at the hospital were killed instantly.

Thomas is commemorated at Arras Memorial, Bay 8/9.
