Alfred Rowland's Story

'Oh roll on' is what my Gramp used to say when the Germans started shooting again .His Dad is the one in the picture. It is no wonder that he did not speak of his Dad. He did not know him, they never even saw each other because he died when my Gramp was 6 months old.

Mum and I found the photo after my Gramp died, we did not even know who it was. I found a photo on the net of the Glos Regiment on the Roll of Honour.
