Arthur Edward's Story
His citation reads as follows- 2nd lt Arthur Edward Henry Bright dcm 4th (attd 8th ) East Surrey Reg. for conspicuous gallentry and devotion to duty on the night of 22nd August 1918. He went forward to take command of a company which had lost heaverly and had no officers left he rapidly reorganised his men under close fire, and then was ordered to push forward, which he did in the dark over unknown ground, establishing for advanced posts, each of which he placed himself his energy and skill were a fine example to the men.

I never met this uncle I found his history on various web sites and his Army papers I am being told were distroyed in the bombing of the second world war but the trace of him is that he married a young Scotish lady in Paris in 1922 and her name was Mary McDougall, I can not find any trace of his death in any records. H. also had two other brothers that gave there lives in the 2nd World War Reginald and Frederick, one died at sea the other in Italy.
