Arthur Robert's Story
On Christmas Eve a truce was called but just an hour or two before a soldier of No 7 platoon was shot by a sniper and this soldier was Arthur Robert Bassingham - aged just 21. He is buried in Ploegsteert Wood Military Cemetery.
