Edward James's Story

Edward was a member of 15 Field Company Royal Engineers part of 8th Division. Whilst working on revetting in the trench system known as 'VC Avenue' in the Bac St Maur area of Northern France, he was shot by a German sniper on Wed 18 August 1915. He died of his wounds on Saturday 21 August 1915. He lies at rest in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery France.
