Percy Charles's Story

My grandfather, Percy Charles Jenkins was first posted with the Middlesex Regiment to France sometime in the latter part of 1915. He was married on 31st July 1915. During 1916, he was badly wounded and sent to Greenhithe Hospital in Kent. For a further one and a half years, he remained with the Army Reserve and was finally discharged from the Royal Fusiliers in February 1919. He continued to receive frequent hospital out patient treatment up to the end of 1921 and maybe beyond. He died in 1942, aged 54 as a result of an internal thrombosis.
