Arthur's Story

686913 Driver Arthur Firth D(howitzer) Battalion 330 Brigade Royal Field Artillery was called up on March 1st 1916 and initially went to Ireland. He was sent to France in 1917 discharged from the army 7th of April 1919.

I have no further information on his war service. He married Beatrice Smith after the war and had one daughter Joan , my mother. He was a master shoemaker and at the time of his death in 1948 had his own business on Prince Street in Dewsbury.
