Albert Victor's Story

My grandfather was originally in the 4th (extra Reserve) Battalion DLI. This unit,which during the Great War formed part of the Tyne defences,did not serve overseas but did supply drafts to 2DLI (a regular battalion) in France.

He was killed when 2DLI's Head Quarters at Potjze Wood was shelled on 28th 12th 1915.

He is Rememberd with Honour .
