James's Story

My grandfather took part in the battles of Mons, Le Cateau, Le Basse, Ypres, Neuve Chapelle, Loos, Vimy Ridge, Arras and Cambrai. He was wounded twice-at Loos and on the Somme. I am in awe of his bravery and the fact that he survived it all and went on to have 6 children, the eldest of whom was my mother.
