e.c.'s Story
I remember very little about my great grandad, but i do have his Boer War and Great War (1914 - 1915) medals, and his service, albeit brief, record from the Boer War, during which he served with the Imperial Yeomanry.
He would have been 35 to 36 in 1914, so i assume that he was a reservist.
His medal shows him as '63785 spr E.C. Burton R.E.'
I believe that the 'E' stands for Ernest, but he was always known as Charley.
I would very much like to know more and any advice would be appreciated.
