Reginald's Story
Reggie was my great uncle. What we know about him is that he was really keen to join up and do his bit to the War effort. I have a newspaper cutting announcing his death, it says the following.
Reginald Alfred a wireless operator in the Royal Flying Corps. The deceased was only 16 years of age.He joined the Tottenham andEdmonton V.T.C. at the outbreak of war and tried unsuccessfully to join the Rough Riders.Ultimately he became attached to the RFC and had been one of the theatres of war between 3 & 4 months. An extract from one of his officers sympathy letters ' he pluckily stuck to his post instead of taking cover when the battery was being heavily shelled.' He rests in France.
