Frederick's Story
He always had an alotment that he had down the street ,saying hello to everyone as he went pushing his barrow.He was a very friendly man with two sons and one daughter.So going to the victory party at the end of the second world war he dressed as a old mother Riley hence the name ,she was a comedy character at the time.(Drag)

He really was imspired by the army and forwarded his age a year older to be able to join.
In the 29th divisional artillery war record and honours book 1915-1918 he was dated saying:
Riley.f.w.63398,Lance Bombr,''B''Battery R.H.A.N Flanders ,1918-on October 15th .near Ledeghem,This N.C.O was getting his gun on to its line of fire preparatory to firering a barrage.Fiev minutes before the commencement of the barrage he was shot through the left wrist.Hastly binding up his wound he carried on with his work and served his gun throughout the barrage which lasted two hours.The position was very advanced and had been shelled throughout the night.Lance Bombardier Riley set a splendid example of courage and devotion to duty.
