Andrew's Story
Andrew was a Christian and a pacifist. As such, he would not carry a gun or harm any fellow man. Fear had no part in it though. He enlisted as soon as war was declared and became a medic and stretcher bearer, lifting the wounded out of the mud in France. He died at the battle of Loos having reached the rank of sergeant.
The photograph is one that my grandmother, his sister, kept close to her until she died.
