Harry's Story

Harry served with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Scots Guards from 1904 until 1919.

Harry served with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Scots Guards from 1904 until 1919 - a 15-year service that saw him fight with the expeditionary force of 1914 until armistice. On his return to England Harry married Emily Lober. No photo survives of Harry. He is described in his army records as having brown hair and eyes, and that he had a number of tattoos, including a heart and woman on his right arm and a horseshoe, whip and a butterfly on the left.
