Charles's Story
Charles Edwin Hares was the twin brother of James William Hares. The twins were born in 1898 to Charles and Rosa Hares in the village of Holt near Trowbridge, Wiltshire. His brother James survived the war but sadly Charles died on 4th June 1918 at No. 30 Casualty Clearing Station, France of Broncho Pneumonia aged just 20.
He is buried in Pernes British Cemetery, France.
