Arthur John's Story
Died on the Western Front
Died on 8th May 1915 during the second Battle of Ypres, remembered for ever on the Menin Gate, and on the Hurrel-Anthony memorial in the countryside near to the spot where he died with many of his comrades on that day. He was my great grandmother's oldest and much loved brother who signed up early in the War to "save" his 2 younger brothers the horror of war
