The Ruling Class consist of Jonathan Sutcliffe (vocals), Tomas Kubovicz (guitar / vocals), Anton Lindberg (bass), Andy Needle (guitar) and Alfie Tammaro (drums). Their sound is unashamedly retro and unmistakably Madchester, their baggy grooves recalling Britpop godfathers Ride, the Stone Roses and Leisure-period Blur.
Together they have spent the past eighteen months working out of their base at the Gun Factory in Stoke Newington. Mercury Award nominees The Horrors have professed their admiration for The Ruling Class's grooves, and their CV certainly lives up to the hype. With gigs in Moscow, Munich and Dresden, tours with The Charlatans and The Twang, and gigs with Glasvegas and Hatcham Social already under their belts, these London boys have big ideas.
