Frontiers formed in August 2007 when three best mates (Charlie, Jake and Noble) started jamming together in a shed at lead guitarist Charlie's house. In spring 2008 they became a four-piece, recruiting Jonny after spotting him playing in a local pub. They were put forward for Reading and Leeds by BBC Introducing in Nottingham's Dean Jackson, who was an early supporter.
Sonically, they fall somewhere between Interpol and The Cure on the post-punk continuum, blending gritty aggression and reverb-drenched ambience. Such atmospherics have afforded them a reputation as a striking studio band, their recent EP being produced by Alan Smyth (Pulp, Arctic Monkeys). They're also an impressive live draw, with support slots with Official Secrets Act and Fight Like Apes under their belt.
