Red Hot Chili Peppers
Main Stage
Reading Saturday 25th
Leeds Sunday 26th
The Chilis seem most at home in the grandest settings. Their blend of mellifluous riffs and hard funk rocked the main stage headline slot.

After initial sound problems I dont think they really recovered. Seemed like they didnt want to be there. Lots of instrumentals and little crowd interaction. Very disapointing.

the chillis were a let down. not the set that was amazing, the fact that they didnt play under the bridge or scar tissue and they ended the set with a instrumental that went on for about 10 minutes. am i the only one who was let down by that?

saw them at reading... deeply disappointing... don't get me wrong...they aren't rubbish. They were going through the motions... a shame and alot of the crowd felt the same...

The Chilis were terrible at Glasgow on Thursday night!

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers were utterly let down by incompetent sound engineers. Anthony Keidis had trouble from the very outset, and was besiged by "technical faults" throughout the entire set. No wonder at all that he appeared slightly miffed. The Chillis deserved far better than Reading provided them.

I think that the last jaming piece was better than the opening piece and I was glad that they played C'mon Girl.
Bishop!
They were terrible the most disappointing act of Saturday they played very few of the older but much better tracks. The atmosphere in the crowd was very poor and summed up there set!

What can I say, I have seen the Chili Peppers 13+ times live including 1994 at Reading and my first festival and loved them but this was awfull. Whether it had something to do with the sound problems at the begining or that they just didn't want to be there the whole performance was extreamly disapointing, their was virtually no crowd interaction, only one track from Blood Sugar Sex Magik their greastest album and far too much "jamming" don't get me wrong I love watchin flea and John work their magic but it seemed as if half the show was instrumental, they didn't flow at all after 13 years of seeing them live I am hanging up my * and leaving it to those that don't know any better. Which brings me on to Reading itself I had forgotten how bad the sound was there, we we standing next to the sound unit and were able to hold a conversation, when we moved a bit further out you couldn't really hear the Chili's that well as they were fighting the nearby tents. The other thing that surprised me about Reading was how old I felt it was like being on a private school trip there were so many kids there and hardly any rockers. All in all My Reading experiance this year was a massive dissapointment and I wouldn't recomend it to anyone.
