Scottish Book Trust are running free writing workshops across Scotland in the new year, with leading authors including Bernard MacLaverty, Robert Douglas and Willie Robertson. Every family has a story.
Family Legends invites you to write a story about your family.
It can be funny or sad, old or new.
It could be about an event that lingers in the memory, or a character who's larger than life.

It must be true and no longer than 1000 words.
No previous skill in writing is required.
The winning entries will be published in a book to be published by Scottish Book Trust and 5 stories will be selected to be broadcast on Radio Scotland's Book Café in 2011.

The competition launched on October 11th 2010 on Radio Scotland's Book Café and closed March 31st 2011.
