The Archers At Sixty

The Archers At Sixty
On Sunday, January 2nd we'll be celebrating sixty years of the world's longest-running radio soap opera, with a special afternoon of omnibus editions and classic episodes.
Meet up again with many of your favourite characters, including Phil Archer (Norman Painting, pictured), Jill Archer (Patricia Greene, pictured), Walter Gabriel (Chris Gittins) and Lynda Snell (Carol Boyd).
Timothy Bentinck - David Archer in the serial - introduces some of the most memorable moments, with added insights from other cast members.
Highlights include tragedy at the stables in 1955, a Christmas birth in 1970 and Brian having to face the music in 2002.
Among the many interviews, you'll be able to hear Patricia Green talking about playing Jill Archer. Later, Charlotte Martin will be remembering the outcry which followed after her character Susan Carter was sent to prison.
Sit back and enjoy the very best of a radio institution.
