THE YOU AND YOURS QUEEN'S SPEECH
- Compulsory voting or a 50% reduction in Council Tax to
people who vote
- An option to vote for "none of the above" on ballot
papers
- Reform of Council Tax
- More tax and grant support for solar energy in housing
- Shops with flats above to have reduction in Business
Rates (to provide extra housing)
- Abolish Road Tax and pay via higher Fuel Tax
- Make motorists display an insurance disc to confirm
they're insured
- Car owners must show they have an off-road parking
facility
- Dry disability drop-off points in all shopping centres
- Small "token" charges for some minor NHS services eg.
GP appointments
- Student discount on tuition fees for academic
achievements (free for a 1st, 75% reduction for a 2:1
etc.)
- Radical penalties for unnecessary and non-
biodegradable packaging
- An "unsubscribe" box on all junk mail
- Better support for carers and non-working mothers
