Parents of children with special needs to get more support
A government commissioned report has found that current specialist needs education is difficult to understand with too many regional variations. Today the the Education Secretary Ed Balls has announced a new helpline to give clearer information about rights to support and the start of pilot schemes to examine how children’s needs are being assessed. Codes of practices are also to be reviewed to make sure children's needs are always put first rather than the availability of resources. Guests: Alex Thomspon: Broadcaster Lesley Campbell: Mencap
