The vagina
It's a fact that it is only six to eight weeks after conception that the human embryo is finally assigned its gender. Before then the heart, lungs, eyes, feet, even the fingers have started to develop. And yet, whichever sex organs the child ends up with, it is more than likely to be the first thing that's remarked upon once he or she is born.
In our series on different parts of the female body, Anna McNamee explores the subject of the vagina.
