Setting the table22 Dec 2005
Has the art of setting a table been lost?

Has the art of setting the table been lost in the British home? What are the origins of table setting? What does it mean historically? What has led to the demise of table setting and what ramifications does this have for families. What does setting the table mean to your family? How was the table traditionally laid at Christmas? Is Christmas now the only time we go to town setting the table?

Jenni is joined in Manchester by Ivan Day,Food Historian and from London by Jane Curran, Food Editor for Woman and Home Magazine.
