Gold, silver, velvet, bejewelled...
The huge choice of party shoes on the high street this season is enough to bring out the Imelda Marcos in all of us.
Woman's Hour looks at the evolution of the party shoe, from Imperial China to Jimmy Choo, and asks what the popularity of precarious but gorgeous shoes says about women today. Martha is joined by Professor Caroline Cox, fashion historian from the University of the Arts in London, and by Robina Dam, editor of Shoo magazine.
