Alternatives to custodial sentences
Earlier this week Britain's senior female judge, Baroness Brenda Hale, raised concerns about the 'disproportionate number of women and teenage girls in custody' and called for judges to consider alternative community sentences for female offenders.
Woman's Hour talks to a woman recently released from prison and investigates whether there is a case for different types of sentencing.
