Final days of an anti-Nazi icon

In February 1943, three students from the White Rose, the legendary Nazi resistance group in Munich, were arrested, sentenced to death and beheaded. One of them was 21-year-old Sophie Scholl - the only female member of the group. She and her brother Hans had been caught distributing anti-war leaflets at the university in Munich.

Lisa Appignanesi tells Martha about Sophie's life.

Sophie Scholl - Die Letzten Tage - The Final Days is in ICA cinemas from 28 October 2005
