His free-thinking and independent women
Daisy Miller is brought to life in a new stage adaptation of the Henry James classic novel. The play opens this week in Malvern before touring the country. Daisy is, like Isabel Archer in 'The Portrait of a Lady' , an American woman who refuses to be restricted by the social conventions of the day.
Jenni will be look ing at Henry James own life with the play's adaptor Dawn Keeler and Prof Janet Beer from Manchester Metropolitan University and explore why he created such free-thinking and independent women.
