Despite frailty and her great age Bertha Wood has published her first book. Now she's in line to be crowned as the oldest debutante author. Her memoirs Fresh Air and Fun, have just been published, to coincide with her 100th birthday.
It tells the story of Bertha and her husband Fred - who back in the 1930's set up one of the original seaside holiday camps in Blackpool , mirroring the likes of Pontins and Butlins.
Despite frailty and her great age Bertha has vivid memories of her life by the seaside. She now lives in Windermere, which is where Clare Jenkins met her.
